Match Play - Highlights & Contacts

APTC members compete in various tennis competitions including the Aylesbury & District Tennis League and Bucks Shield. Please see the link below for a schedule of 2020 match fixtures from the LTA British Tennis Website. Contact details for our team captains are included at the end of this page.

We encourage all members to regularly check home match fixtures via the following A&DTL link to avoid disappointment when arranging to play at the club, particularly during weekends. Men's 2 close to division 7 title

Aston Park’s Men’s 2 team lead Division 7 with one match to play and should be crowned champions. A great win on 14 March over Princes Risborough Men’s 3 (7.5 to 0.5 sets) takes them very close to the title. It is mathematically possible for nearest rivals, Bovingdon, to pip them to the post but this needs three 8-0 wins from Bovingdon in their next matches plus Aston Park to get fewer than 3.5 sets in their final match versus Oving Men’s 2.  We'll all be watching the match scores in the coming weeks!
Well done to team members- Jack Bacon, Adrian Bowen, Attila Gal, Josh Hoey, Andy May, Andrew Nurse, Mark Pendlebery, Tom Pendlebery and Paul Soundy.

Team effort secures Ladies 1 Division 4 title

Congratulations to Ladies 1 (Sarah Baker, Sue Hoey, Anne Green, Pamela Reid, Sarah Miller, Anna Fryer, Sue Andrews and Kerry Pendlebery) who have become Division 4 Winter 19/20 Champions.  It has been a real team effort as all of Ladies 2 have represented Ladies 1 and won key sets. Special mentions to Sue Hoey who has played with a different partner in every match in 2020, winning key sets in all and to Anne Green who according to the match statistics is currently rated as the top player in Division 4.

Anne and Pamela represent Bucks County Over 50s

In a first for Aston Park, Anne Green and Pamela Reid represented Buckinghamshire County Over-50s in the winter friendly county series held indoors at Corby on Sunday 23 February.  On court for 2.5 hours for 4 sets, Anne and Pamela battled hard against Warwickshire and although their scores did not do justice to close matches, they gained significant experience from stepping up to county level. Linda Bottrill and Florence Glenister from Halton won 2 sets with Bucks defeated by 6-2 sets.

Aston Park Mixed 3 top division

Competing in the sixth division of the ADTL midweek floodlit mixed league the team of Glen Hickson, Eileen Greenall, Louise Bowen, Chris Stoddart, Tom Pendlebery, Jack Bacon, Paul Soundy, Adrian Bowen and Graham Rainey have managed to maintain their position at the top of the table despite some keen competition from close rivals, Prestwood, Wingrave and Long Marston 2.

Spotlight - Intermediate Cup

Aston Park are Intermediate Cup Champions for 2019

Due to the fielding of ineligible players by opposition teams, Aston Park have been awarded the Intermediate Cup for 2019. Aston Park defeated both Cublington and Princes Risborough to reach the final but both other semi-finalists have been disqualified and the Cup has now been awarded to Aston Park.

Congratulations to the team members Sarah Baker, Tim Gill, Michael Chase and Pamela Reid. The trophy was presented to the team on 10 September 2019 at Chesham Bois.
