Match Play - Highlights & Contacts

APTC members participate in various tennis competitions including the Aylesbury & District Tennis League and Bucks Shield. Please see the link below for a schedule of 2019 match fixtures from the LTA British Tennis website.


We encourage all members to regularly check home match fixtures to avoid disappointment when arranging to play at the club, particularly during weekends.


Spotlight - Intermediate Cup

APTC progress to final

Aston Park’s Intermediate Cup Team of Tim and Sarah, Michael and Pamela had a 5-3 set win over Princes Risborough to reach the final for the second year in a row. The teams found themselves equal on sets after the first round but both Aston Park couples secured 1.5 sets victories in the second round to progress to the final.  The final will be held on Tuesday 10 September at Chesham Bois with the opposition either holders Horsenden or Long Crendon who have yet to play.

Ladies 1 secure promotion

Final match vs Tring will decide first place

Sarah & Sue and Pamela & Kerry beat Horsenden 1 by 8 sets to 0 on 6 August to set up a league decider with Tring L2 at the end of August.  Other results in the league mean that Ladies 1 will finish in 1st or 2nd place and secure promotion to Division 3 next year. Well done Ladies 1!

Aylesbury & District League Summer 2019

Ladies 1 Win 7-1

Sarah, Sue, Pamela and Anna recorded an excellent  7-1 win over Widmer End in another very long, competition match. Aston Park L1 now sit at the top of Division 4 on set/game difference from Tring L2.  Promotion is likely to be achieved by two of the following three teams- Aston Park L1, Tring L2 and Halton L3 as it is all very tight in scores with these teams. 


Mixed 1 win keeps them in division 3 

After some very close matches, Aston Park Mixed 1 beat Long Marston 1 by 5 sets to 3 to move out of the relegation zone in Division 3. Pamela & Andrew and Michael & Anne all contributed to the win with Michael and Anne gaining that all important extra set against determined opposition.

Ladies 1 play out a hard fought draw with Halton 3

Our Ladies 1 team of Sarah and Kerry and Anna and Pamela gained a draw against Halton 3 in a tough match lasting over 3 hours. Both couples beat Halton’s second pair and Anna and Pamela had chances to win a set against the first pair but were unable to convert advantage points.  The team now lie in 3rd position in the league with half of its matches played.

Men's 1 win at Oving

Tim, Nathan, Graham and Andrew secured a hard fought 5-3 win at Oving on 20th June, taking them to top of the Division 4 A&D league, at least for the time being!

Convincing win for Ladies 1 at Missenden

Sarah, Sue, Anna and Pamela played some great tennis to beat Missenden 1 eight sets to love on 13th June, taking them to third place in Division 4 of the A&D league.

Hard fought draw for Men's 2

Andy, Paul, Mark and Tom drew against Bledlow Ridge on 22nd May, moving them to the top of Division 7 in the A&D league.
